The second thing I do when I evaluate a healer’s logs is look at the who they healed!  In general I look for if they stuck to their assignment. And of course, if their assignment died.

Who Was Their Healing Target

Choose your fight first, then drill down on the player like this:

The Click on the Healing by Actor tab:

What you want to look for here is based on the raiders healing asignment.

  • Holy Paladins – should show both their target tank and the beacon target tank as the first 2 and themself as the next (this is due to the PoTA talent that automatically heals the paladin)
  • Tank Healers – should show their tank assignment as the primary healing target.
  • Raid healers – should always show a healthy mix of targets receiving heals, they should however NOT show a primary target of a tank. This can cause a wipe if the raid doesn’t receive enough healing.

Lack of Healing on Healing Assignment

Next, look at the death log. This is particularly useful to see if a healer did NOT heal their asignment.

Then you have get a huge list of deaths and can click the “more” link to see if they had heals before they died, and from whom. This will help identify if a healer wasn’t on their assignment at the right time. Or, potentially if a healer was healing someone they were not assigned to. This is ok, unless they ran oom and caused the wipe due to being unable to heal their actual assignment.

In the above case, the healer died (no one else).
