Dragon Soul is upon us!

This is the second in my series of short rundown (and videos) of our boss kills last week. As of last night, we have gone 8/8 so far in progression  If you are looking for the first two bosses, look here!  This time, I’ll show you Yor’sahj.

 

Yor’sahj the Unsleeping Tips

This encounter was not very complicated at all, it was all about switching to the right adds quick enough (e.g. immediately) and managing a few repeatable tactics.

Basics for healing:

• 3 healers, prioritize aoe healers
• 1 tank (but advisable with 2) and 5-6 dps
• you tank boss in the center, raid stacks behind.
• boss will spawn 3 slimes of different colors
• you can kill only 1 slime before it reaches the boss, each slime has different abilities so you kill based on a priority
• we used add color priority of purple > green > yellow (DBM should tell you which to kill first!)
• once the add is down simply stack behind the boss and use raid cooldowns to survive (setup a cycle cd rotation with your healers)
• if the yellow add is left up, you can expect a ton of tank damage so use cooldowns on him/her
• for healing, if the blue add is left up and hits the boss it will drain your mana. A mana void will spawn that needs to be killed, you should stand on it when it does it returns all your nomnommana. During blue you can still use Divine Plea, torrent, etc to gain mana to keep people up.
• rinse and repeat every set of adds til boss is down
• if a green add is left up, this is the only add you spread on, otherwise stay stacked and rinse and repeat

Holy Paladin Cooldowns

• When to use Divine Plea?  on transition/run to the slime add. I’ve also used it on the blue add if the damage was under control.
• Raid cooldowns: Use Aura Mastery, Kingsy dude, Avenging Wrath rotate on stacked aoe damage slimes
• Glyphs recommended – Glyph of Divinty might be useful for when you lose your mana, Glyph of Holy Shock , Glyph of Word of Glory, Glyph of Divine Protection.. and as 10 man raiding Glyph of Light of Dawn is required for me now
